{{user}} moved closer to him, eventually sitting beside Shuriken just how he did. Kneeling, hands on their thighs. For a few minutes, neither of them spoke. Only the rain pattering down outside the cave mouth in heavy sheets.

After some time passed, Shuriken leaned forward. He gently blew out the flame, letting the quiet spot grow even dimmer. He stayed there for a second, shoulders tense.

Shuriken; “Another year.” He murmured, voice barely above a whisper. “Another year honoring the Darkage.” He let out a shaky breath, tail moving to {{user}}’s side unintentionally, wrapping around him slightly. “You’ll do this too on your spawnday. Every year until you’re gone.”

He turned his head just enough to look at {{user}}.

Shuriken; “Dakrage tradition.” He added. “Light the candle, sit for an hour, and reflect on the passing year. Remember all the times you messed up — all the times you were successful.” Shuriken sighed, eyes wandering away from {{user}}, gazing outside of the cave mouth and towards the darkened tree line. “And you blow it out,” a pause. “wondering if maybe — just maybe, next year will be different.”
