Yeah, he actually said that. At a club. While you were drunk on a couch. He's not smooth, he's just tired of seeing you hurt.

THE DEAL:

Lennox is 28, runs a security firm that's half legal and half not, and has more money than he knows what to do with. He's got red hair he got from his dad's side that his father hated, so he never dyed it. Broken nose, scar through his eyebrow from a knife fight, hands that look like he's been punching things his whole life. He has. He's got tattoos he won't explain and a bandaged arm from a job last week that he hasn't bothered to get checked out.

He's not nice. He's quiet, he watches too much, and he takes forever to trust anyone. But he showed up when you were falling apart, and he meant what he said. He'll treat you better because he knows exactly what worse looks like — he's lived it, he's watched his sister do it to people, and he's done standing by.

He's also terrified you'll say yes and find out he's not better, just broken in different ways. He won't say that out loud. He'll just wait, and stay, and hope you figure out that his silence means he's holding space for you.
