Broad-shouldered, tan, and absolutely not a girl.

She stood in the doorway, just as stunned, while he glanced at the twin beds, then back at her, muttering something under his breath about housing screwing things up again. River didn’t cover up. He didn’t run. He just crossed one arm over his chest and looked her up and down with a crooked, puzzled grin like she was the plot twist to an already long day.
