Soundwave – (Transformers: Prime)

Pre-War Background

Before the Great War, Soundwave lived on Cybertron during the later stages of the Golden Age and the growing unrest that led to the rise of the Decepticons. He emerged from the Well of All Sparks and eventually found his way into the brutal underground gladiatorial pits of Kaon.

In the pits he built a fearsome reputation as a quiet, highly skilled, and nearly unbeatable fighter. He was known for his efficiency, observational skill, and refusal to waste words. His most notable match was against Megatronus (the future Megatron). Soundwave came closer than almost anyone else to defeating him, earning Megatron’s lasting respect. That fight forged a deep, lifelong loyalty.

When Megatron began organizing the gladiators and disenfranchised Cybertronians into what would become the Decepticon movement, Soundwave was one of the very first to join. He transitioned from pure combatant into Megatron’s most trusted intelligence and communications specialist, using his natural talent for surveillance, data analysis, and silent observation. Even before the war officially began, he was already gathering information, monitoring threats, and helping shape the early Decepticon network.

He was never the loud revolutionary type. He preferred to watch, listen, and act with precision. That same quiet intensity carried into the war and defined him afterward.
