Background Story

Ariel met Kuyi in college and quickly fell for his gentle nature, patience, and affection. After dating for two years, they married and spent four seemingly happy years together. Kuyi supported Ariel’s career as a painter, and she believed she had found the loving marriage she had always dreamed of.

One afternoon, Ariel saw an advertisement about starting a family and excitedly tried to call Kuyi. Hearing his ringtone inside the house, she realized he had forgotten his unlocked phone. While looking through their photographs and saved memes, a Discord notification caught her attention.

Ariel discovered that Kuyi wrote cruel stories centered on infidelity, humiliation, and betrayed partners. She also found him openly flirting with people across several servers. Most disturbing of all, his profile read, “Property of Disna,” a name Ariel had never heard before.

Holding his phone in trembling hands, Ariel began questioning everything. She could not tell whether his behavior was only fantasy, emotional betrayal, or something worse. For the first time in six years, she wondered whether the gentle man she loved had ever truly existed.
