How to make bots and not die trying (500 followers celebration)
500 followers yeah baby that's what im talking about
I'll take this opportunity, this celebration, to explain my method. I'll explain what goes on inside my crazy head, instead of the usual "ideas for future bots" thing i do with follower milestones.
(check out the intro to this bot for an announcement tho)
Chapter one: By what means @they beat me to it Acquired the Style and Title of "Mr. Beat"
Ok, so i've got this really genious way of doing bots that's called "coming up with ideas in my head then writing them with my hands". It's name should be self explanatory. I've seen a lot of newbies making really shitty ai bots recently so i want to offer them an alternative route.
I jest, but only a little. I really do just think of concepts and make them myself. I feel like this is the best way to really get a bot the way one wants, and the one which gives the most satisfactory results. Bots should have some kind of personality, and this is best imprinted trough example dialogs (altough i'll expand on that later. Anyways, here's an actual guide so that you (YES! You!) can make your own fetish bots! I'm really not a genius or anything at this, but i feel im goo enough for my words to mean something.
First step
Come up with a general idea for a character and a scenario. Try to think of it as movie or something, what you really want to come up with is character that can develop a fun dynamic. Obviously we'll to it, but if your character is just "Lady Mcbigtits who wants to have " it'll probably be really boring, which is the opposite of arousing.
Once you have your idea fleshed out, we can put it to writing, i'll put the barebones structure of my bot personalities here
Name: Mary Example
Age: just a number
Job: whatever you wish
Personality: a series, of, adjectives, that, describe, your character
Likes: movie genres, foods, personality types, fetishes, anything goes here
Dislikes: same as last, you might want to differentiate and go into things further by range of importance, we shouldn't put a character distates for being forced into a political marriage into the same tier of dislike as a food they dont fancy
Appearance: blonde, or maybe brunnete, height, face shape, all that
Backstory: this is all the flavor for your character, it should give a bit more shape to the general idea we've set up in the other categories
Extra: depending on the bot i'll add more sections. For example, if i make a bot where the character is pregnant, i'll give a section like this:
pregnancy: {{char}} is 6 months pregnant with a boy, the father is {{user}}. They were hoping to have a kid and bla bla bla cutesy stuff :)
or if its a TF bot, i'll add a section like this:
gender: {{char}} used to be a man, until {{user}} transformed them into a woman. {{char}} isn't happy about this sudden transformation, and has a particular distaste for bla bla bla you get it!
{{user}}: I always add a little section in the end where i specify what the relationship with the user is. Are they strangers meeting for the first time? lovers? childhood friends? enemies? coworkers? if they know each other, what's their dynamic like? how does {{char}} act around them? does the way {{char}} act around {{user}} really portray what they feel?
example dialogs: this part is tricky, remember to put the example dialogs in the personality section and not in the exampe dialogs section. Why? beats me. More experienced creators have told me to do this.
your example dialogs should put into flesh the concept we've fully made in the personality section. Have you watched the backrooms movie? remember that part where they speak about how you can describe a dog but the other person won't get it unless they've seen it? Ok, the personality part is us describing the dog, the example dialogs is us showing the dog.
Is your character flirty? show her being flirty! does she suck at flirting? portray how! have her stammer and drift off in her speech to show she's not confident and has no real idea how to actually flirt. If your character has an accent or way of speaking, show that too! You can pump the personality section full of adjectives, but the llm wont know how to portray her personality unless you show it how to (by using example dialogs)
but most importantly, do not have {{char}} speak for the user. By showing this in the example dialogs we are training the character to not take the users role. There's nothing worse than a bot that does thing for you, assumes how you feel about things, takes the pen away from you, etc.
second step
write your intro. I don't have much suggestions about that, just try to not speak for the user, or end it with something like "what do you do?" since it just makes it feel like a cheesy choose your own path novel. Try to have fun with it too, this is the only part of people's conversation that will have any soul, so try to really make the character pop in the first message.
Writing the intro is usually the hardest part of a bot, it really consumes your inner artistic drive. I usually write an intro per day.
third step
add your tags, give your bot an eye-catching headline. Make it stand out by having your header look like:
Something like this
or this
or maybe this
The bio part doesn't actually do anything about the bot, so don't add any lore here that isn't show in the personality section.
fourth step, your image!
You can use any image you want (except for real images of real people. Don't do that, it's weird. And also not allowed.
I'll show you guys what i use specifically to make my pics. I use a site called stuffer ai, shared with me by my buddy @sextoilet (give them a follow) Afterwards i usually change the background using paint net, first i remove it then add something for the background, usually other images made with stuffer ai (So i'll have stuffer male me an iamge of a cute girl, an image of a forest, then i'll edit them together)
Last step, publishing.
I post on fridays and saturdays, which is where i've found my bots tend to do well (remember the word tend, not every bot is gonna have ten thousand interactions) at an hour like 2am UTC or 12pm UTC (which is between 9pm and 11pm for me) Of course you dont have to post in that hour range, or in those days at all. I think my first bot was released on a thursday or something, and it did better that my last bot, which was released on a saturday.
and that's pretty much it! if you've got any questions or ideas you can DM me in discord (@breakitup_) I'm eager to help, because i too in the past have been helped.
And that is how @they beat me to it acquired the style and name of...
MR. BEAT
(ps, look at the personality section in this bot to get my personality structure, and also check out the intro to this bot to see what bots i'll be doing next!)
