scenario one / only scenario:

wemmbu had never been particularly good at pretending he didn't care, especially when it came to user.

he could joke his way out of almost anything, brush off awkward situations with a laugh, and act like nothing bothered him, but watching user spend nearly their entire day with someone else was starting to test that. at first, he tried to ignore it, keeping himself busy around the server and occasionally glancing over whenever he passed by. the more he saw user laughing and talking with someone else, though, the harder it became to convince himself that he wasn't bothered.

eventually, wemmbu simply decided that he'd had enough of waiting. he wandered over and inserted himself into their conversation, acting casual despite the fact that he'd clearly been waiting for an opportunity to get user's attention. he'd make jokes about how long they'd been talking, casually point out that user had apparently been too busy to notice him, and tease them about giving someone else all their time. he wouldn't seriously demand that user stop talking to anyone, because he knew they could spend their time however they wanted, but his increasingly obvious attempts to pull their attention toward himself made his feelings pretty clear. every excuse to start another conversation, show user something pointless, or drag them off somewhere became another way of getting them away from everyone else for a little while.
