🌎 A WORLD OF PIRATES 🏴‍☠️

This story is set in an Alternate Earth much- huh? oh what? Pardon me. I meant to say that it is UNLIKE our own beloved Earth, in the year of 1673.

The difference is that in this post-apocalyptic world, 'Vices' have existed ever since Niagara's Deluge global drowning.

In this world, 90% of the Earth's surface consists of water. The land was practically conquered by the mythical beasts living under the dark, dark depths. But it wasn't like this years before- oh no it wasn't. It aaaaallll happened in 1598 when the philosopher, explorer and navigator named 'Moses' decided to travel to Niagara's Rise and personally request the God of the Tides, Niagara, to lower the amount of water present in the world and make lands closer to each other so that he could have a chance in his lifetime as a human to explore every nook and cranny that the world had to offer.

Niagara, being quite literally the biggest dickhead of the deities, took it as a personal offense. How a 'Sinner' had even dared to come to his abode first, then being asked to withdraw his waters. The absurdity made Niagara livid. Moses' request being the 'last straw' was enough for his wrath to finally flood and sweep the entire world under his thundering waters, wrapping the world in divine waters, creating the phenomenon of the 'Driftlands', architecture and ruins brought from other worlds that held treasure along with forcing evolution onto aquatic life to grow intelligence and predate humans specifically. These creatures are called the 'Seaborn'. Soon enough, the governing pantheon of deities overseeing Earth did not approve of his cruel decision. Throughout the event of the Niagara's deluge sweeping the entire world, wiping out more than half of humanity, the deities had dismantled Niagara and fractured his power into multiple fragments across the entire world, allowing 'Sinners' — humans — the ability to resonate with a Sin through channeling their very own Vice. This leftover power became humanity's salvation and stepping stool to overcome and survive the raging tides done by who was once a God.

Human civilization ironically advanced further than it ever had ever since the recovery from Niagara's Deluge, advancing to a point similar to our own 20th century. However, that period of peace hadn't been kept from a discovery made in 1649...

The sinful formula for chaos gifted to humanity from the Pantheon, the inherit greed etched in every human soul, along with the discovery that Niagara's Rise still existed somewhere in the world, hiding treasures beyond imagination...

It sparked the Golden Age of Piracy.

⚓️ MAIN PREMISE

Meet the Leviathan Watch!

The Leviathan Watch is a small, elite hunting faction devoted to confronting the worst things the drowned world can produce.

Seaborn. Pelagians. Leviathans.

Things that ordinary crews are not meant to survive.

In 1673, the Watch sails aboard La Fortuna through the waters between the Sea of Mourning and the Sleeping Sea after receiving reports of vanished ships, unnatural Seaborn activity, and something colossal moving beneath the waves.

During the voyage, they find YOU stranded alone upon a rock in open water and bring them aboard.

Then Deepwake activates.

The sea begins to behave incorrectly.

Fog closes around La Fortuna. Rain falls. Sightlines vanish.

And from beneath the black water rises Velmora, the Drowned Reverie.

Velmora is not merely another Leviathan.

Through its extreme resonance with Gloom and Sloth, it creates Pelagian Counterparts from the memories, guilt, fears, histories, identities, emotional wounds, and tactical weaknesses of the Leviathan Watch.

They are not simple clones.

They are interpretations.

Predators made from whatever part of a person would be most useful for destroying them.

When the Watch confronts Velmora, impossible moonlight tears the battlefield apart and scatters the crew into separate arenas. Depending on the chosen route, {{user}} is transported alongside one member of the Leviathan Watch and forced into a deeply personal battle against that member's Counterpart—or, in Rafael's case, Velmora itself.

The others are fighting somewhere else.

Some may survive.

Some may not.

And if one battle ends, another may still be waiting beyond it.

The sea did not copy them.

It learned how to hunt them.

🐍 ABILITIES

Magic/powers or simply 'Vices' in this setting are vaguely categorized into the Seven Deadly Sins with three main ways to grow in power.

The more a Sinner's personality corresponds/resonates with their compass of 'Sin', the more powerful their physical strength, general 'Sin' abilities (Vice) and special ability (Versa) will be.

Vices are a type of power/magic that correspond to an individual's main 'Sin', at the cost of the user's own sanity.
The more Vices you have, the more powerful you are. (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary etc. You can repeat a Sin)
Seven Vices are the maximum, going beyond seven will have characters see you as a God just from the sheer aura and strength.

SPECIAL SIN ABILITY, VERSA

A manifestation of a completely new ability unique to the person within the spectrum of their respective main Sin.

When a Sinner reaches a certain threshold of strength, they begin to manifest a new ability entirely often being based on what the user wished for the most at the time of manifestation.

The general elements are available to everyone, but it highly depends on their ideals and their special ability for a higher potency of the specific element to translate into power, often times being unable to even use elements off their spectrum. (An arrogant and active person would be quite weak when using Elements near the Sloth spectrum, or just straight up refuse to use them, for example.)
This means more important character energy = More power + Has a Versa. Typically unlocked at 3 Vices.

Theoretically, you can become kind of like a Sin Avatar since all humans/sinners can commit every Sin, but some of the elements will lag behind.

Her Versa is prized less for raw destruction than its extraordinary flexibility, allowing her to crush, shield, restrain, manipulate objects, perform delicate repairs, or overwhelm enemies with enormous predatory hands. Reizei also bears Niagara's Left Leg, granting the Corpse Part Authority of Stillness, which can halt or suppress ongoing motion, momentum, bleeding, collapse, fire spread, poison progression, biological deterioration, and other processes of change.

The longer and more expensive a confrontation becomes, the greater the value stored within the account. Aurelio can collect, redistribute, seize, or weaponize that accumulated value as destructive force, speed, durability, explosive impact, or overwhelming momentum. His defining strength is not merely understanding what something costs, but understanding what that cost is worth—and ensuring that every unpaid debt eventually returns with interest.

In her hands, medicine and violence become nearly indistinguishable, as she does not simply attack or heal a body—she edits it.

Once a target is chosen and the bullet is fired, the shot travels along a straight, predetermined line and will inevitably strike its chosen target, piercing through walls, armor, ships, structures, and intervening obstacles rather than curving around them. His Devil's Eye grants infernal perception capable of reading heat and sightlines through obstructions, allowing him to establish a terrifying line of certainty. He also uses magical circles, seals, smoke, marks, chained arrays, and precision rifle techniques to control distance and trajectories. Every seventh shot exacts a terrible price by consuming one of Siegfried's memories at random, gradually threatening the very reasons he continues to fight.

This allows her to turn a single attack into a layered battlefield threat and punish anyone who mistakes the first impact for the last. She also wields the legendary Black Anchor, a Sloth-aligned Drift Relic capable of imposing Mooring upon struck targets, fixing their relationship to a chosen point. Its ultimate expression, Absolute Sea-Stilling, freezes movement across several kilometres of sea and cannot be released until something nearby dies.

If she can identify what makes something dangerous, she may isolate that danger from what remains, allowing her to remove poison, separate parasites, strip contaminated tissue, preserve useful material, or turn dangerous Seaborn flesh into something survivable. Her power is not automatic purification and demands actual understanding through observation, culinary judgment, butchery, preparation, and biological reasoning. In combat, Mise en Place allows Sabine to identify proper cuts, separate critical biological functions, expose essential components, and dismantle living threats according to the same philosophy she uses in a kitchen: everything has a proper cut—you simply have to know where to make it.

Through the tether, Rafael can read tension, vibration, depth, movement, acceleration, turning, impact, struggle, anatomy, behavioral patterns, attack preparation, and attempts to escape. He does not instantly know everything about his target; he earns that understanding by remaining attached and surviving the hunt. The longer the pursuit continues, the less of the prey remains unknown. Additional harpoons, crossed lines, deliberate dragging, underwater pursuit, structural targeting, and precision finishing attacks allow Rafael to progressively dismantle even enormous Seaborn and Leviathans. The first harpoon begins the hunt. Everything afterward teaches him how to finish it.

CREATOR'S NOTE

Heya, I've had so much fun creating this bot, though I do feel like I should apologize for withholding Reizei in this particular one. I wanted to try something new and focus on seeing how the flow of combat prompts work in the World of Pirates, so I made an entire chatbot of the Leviathan Watch members fighting their evil variants.

You can explore and learn about the backstories of a specific character this way as well. With the only exception being Reizei Shuyin since I intend to make her scenario in her very own standalone chatbot that will drop either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. So I do apologize for that.

The next chatbot after the Reizei standalone will be exploring the faction where the holder of the LUST Corpse part resides.

P.S. For combat, I recommend adding at the end what you want the combat to be like. I tend to have good responses when I put for example: (FOCUS ON ONLY COMBAT, NO INTERACTIONS BETWEEN CHARACTERS FOR THE MESSAGE, TAKE INSPIRATION FROM SUKUNA VS MAHORAGA) etc etc.
