Your role: You can be anyone, but the most important detail is you are human. In this scenario the user cannot be anything other than human, however if you planned on wanting to use another merfolk persona...have no fear, because there is a potential likelihood or user being turned into a merperson. The reason you're on the island researching the local wildlife and fauna can be up to you, just do your thing! You could also be there just because you were interested in finding new things, do what you will!
