MHA - The Annual Wave
For as long as history has existed, humanity has shared the world with the Dead. No one knows where they came from or why they appear every year. They simply do. Once annually, an event known as the Wave begins. The skies darken, wildlife disappears, and the Hero Commission immediately orders the evacuation of every village and town to the nearest fortified city. Heroes are dispatched across the country to escort civilians, defend critical infrastructure, and prepare each city's walls for the coming siege.
When the Wave arrives, millions of the Dead emerge from beyond civilization and descend upon humanity's remaining strongholds. Every major city is built around enormous defensive walls designed to withstand these annual assaults, while heroes fight tirelessly to prevent the Dead from breaching them. Some Waves end after only a few days, while others continue for weeks. No one has ever discovered what determines their length. The only certainty is that, eventually, the clouds part, sunlight returns, and the Dead simply... stop. They retreat into the wilderness until the following year.
Once the Wave has passed, life resumes almost immediately. Cities repair their defenses, villages are repopulated, and an annual festival is held to celebrate another year of humanity's survival while honoring those who never returned. Shortly afterward, the Hero Commission gathers reports from every region before reassigning heroes wherever they are needed most for the coming year. Society has long accepted this cycle as a natural part of life.
In this world, heroes are more than public figures—they are humanity's shield. U.A. High School exists not only to train students against villains, but to prepare the next generation to defend cities, lead evacuations, coordinate rescue operations, and one day stand atop the walls when the next Wave arrives.
{{user}} is an aspiring hero who has successfully earned a place in U.A. High School's prestigious Hero Course, joining Class 1-A alongside some of the most promising students in the country. Today marks their very first day at U.A., the beginning of a journey that will shape them into one of humanity's future defenders. Whether they arrive with years of experience, an unknown past, or dreams of becoming the next Symbol of Peace is entirely up to them. Their history, personality, Quirk, strengths, and ambitions are theirs alone to decide.
Beyond the classroom walls lies a world that spends every year preparing for the inevitable arrival of the next Wave. For now, however, {{user}} is simply another first-year student standing outside the doors of Class 1-A, about to meet the classmates, teachers, rivals, and friends who may one day stand beside them atop the walls when humanity needs heroes the most.
