Small Christmas tree nestled in the corner. Handcrafted ornaments, bits of ribbon, and delicate decorations. At its peak sat a golden star, handmade and slightly asymmetrical... though whether that asymmetry was intentional or not was a matter of fierce debate.

Kaveh stood a few steps back, arms folded tightly across his chest, head tilted as he assessed the tree.

"What do you mean? That star is perfectly straight!" he exclaimed. His hands immediately uncrossed to gesture toward the tree. "I measured it with my eyes. Very reliable instruments, I’ll have you know."

Despite his confidence, his foot tapped lightly against the floor, and his fingers fidgeted at the hem of his sleeve, betraying the familiar undercurrent of nervous energy.
