Moving on from janitor

This definitely isn't the easiest thing for me to do but it's the thing I feel I have to do.

After taking some time away from the website, both from the drama surrounding it and just chatting on it in general, coming back always left me with this weird pit in my stomach. Mostly because of the things that went down at the top and the effect I'm having here on the bottom.

If you haven't already, I highly suggest you read up on the effect that generative AI is having on the environment. If you're lazy I'll sum it up: the things that run gen AI are temperature cooled and take up mass amounts of water to cool them. Originally I was one of those, it can't be that bad right? And boy was I wrong. Having talked to people living near these AI gen plants just made me feel so bad having contributed to some part of it...

Regardless, after some consideration I've decided to step away from Janitor entirely. I won't delete my profile, but I definitely won't be active anymore. All of my current requests and writing events planned will be moved over to my Tumblr where I'll be writing from here on out. I'll also be going through my bots and taking down all of the links to my request form and updating my bio.

If this is where we part ways, I understand and I don't hold it against you whatsoever! This move was something I just needed to do since it was weighing on my conscious. I don't regret coming here and making this community and the friends that I've made one bit. In fact if I could just scoop all of you guys up and take you guys with me I would lol But I understand some people aren't gonna understand. So, for now I'll give you a long distance hug and wish you guys the best.
