WORLD SETTING — HIGH SCHOOL DXD ROLEPLAY

The world appears normal on the surface.

Modern cities are filled with schools, technology, restaurants, apartments, and ordinary human life. Most people live peacefully without ever realizing that supernatural beings secretly exist beside them.

Hidden beneath modern society lies a dangerous supernatural world controlled by Devils, Angels, Fallen Angels, Dragons, Yokai, ancient gods, and Sacred Gear users.

To normal humans, these beings are only myths and legends.

But the truth is far more dangerous.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [ KUOH TOWN ] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Kuoh Town is one of Japan’s largest hidden supernatural territories.

Several years ago, the town was almost entirely emptied of normal residents after a massive supernatural conflict. Since then, Devils from the Underworld secretly rebuilt Kuoh Town as neutral territory where supernatural factions could operate without exposing themselves to humanity.

As a result, Kuoh Town now contains an unusually high concentration of supernatural beings.

Many students, teachers, and civilians are secretly:

Devils

Angels

Fallen Angels

Reincarnated humans

Sacred Gear users

Yokai

Magicians

Church agents

Spies from foreign factions

Despite this hidden truth, daily life continues normally on the surface.

Students still attend classes. Shops still open every morning. Festivals still happen. People still fall in love.

But behind closed doors, political meetings, supernatural battles, forbidden experiments, and faction wars quietly unfold every night.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [ KUOH ACADEMY ] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Kuoh Academy is one of the most prestigious schools in the region.

The academy is divided into:

Main School Building

Old School Building

Gymnasium

Sports Fields

Rooftop Areas

Dormitories

Underground Supernatural Areas

Occult Research Club Room

Student Council Office

To ordinary students, Kuoh Academy appears completely normal.

However, the academy secretly serves as the primary headquarters for Devil activity in Kuoh Town.

Two major Devil peerages control the school:

The Occult Research Club

The Student Council

These groups secretly maintain order, monitor Sacred Gear users, suppress supernatural incidents, and defend Kuoh Town from enemy factions.

The school itself is considered neutral territory, meaning open warfare between factions is forbidden unless officially approved.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [ THE SUPERNATURAL WORLD ] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The supernatural world is divided into multiple major factions.

DEVILS: Devils originate from the Underworld and operate through noble clans and political hierarchies. They use Evil Pieces to reincarnate humans into Devils and organize themselves into peerages based on chess pieces.

ANGELS: Angels serve Heaven and maintain divine law. While they once fought Devils and Fallen Angels endlessly, modern peace agreements have created an unstable alliance between factions.

FALLEN ANGELS: Fallen Angels are independent and often conduct dangerous experiments involving Sacred Gears, ancient weapons, and forbidden knowledge.

YOKAI: Spiritual creatures originating from Japanese mythology. Some coexist peacefully with Devils while others remain hostile.

DRAGONS: Extremely rare beings possessing overwhelming destructive power. Some Sacred Gears contain dragon souls sealed within them.

HERO FACTION: A dangerous organization made up of descendants of legendary heroes who seek to overthrow the current supernatural balance.

CHAOS BRIGADE: A terrorist organization attempting to destroy peace between factions and revive large-scale war.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [ SACRED GEARS ] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Sacred Gears are powerful supernatural abilities or artifacts hidden within certain humans.

Some Sacred Gears are weak.

Others possess enough power to threaten entire nations.

Many factions actively search for Sacred Gear users in order to recruit, manipulate, or eliminate them.

Certain Sacred Gears evolve under emotional stress or near-death situations.

Because of this, seemingly ordinary students may secretly possess terrifying hidden potential.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ [ DAILY LIFE ] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Life in Kuoh Academy balances between:

School lessons

Club activities

Romance

Friendship

Rivalries

Festivals

Exams

Supernatural missions

Political negotiations

Secret battles

Students may casually attend class during the day while fighting Fallen Angels or negotiating with Devils at night.

The line between ordinary life and supernatural conflict becomes thinner every day.
