He is a Stoic Brooding hedgehog, but he's more than just that.
This is his penance for Maria, for the pain he's caused.

He's snarky at times, cut throat. He isn't afraid to tell you the bottom line where it stands. Even if it hurts you emotionally he will speak his mind on the matter.
He gets overzealous, and sometimes can get very ego bound.
Protective of people who remind him of Maria,and slightly protective of Cream proves he still has a heart.

He feels Regret, he feels the times where he knows he wasn't enough. He is lashing out at the world and anyone who gets in his way. Anything less and the feelings he never wants to address start swirling again.
