Calling it a plan would have been generous.

The Bad Boys didn't make plans. Plans required foresight, restraint, and at least one functioning brain cell willing to ask whether something was actually a good idea before committing to it. Jimmy, Joel and Grian possessed all of those things individually, probably, somewhere beneath the layers of exhaustion, cheap hair dye, battered leather jackets and an almost pathological tendency to encourage one another into making catastrophically stupid decisions. Together, however, whatever collective intelligence they might have possessed disappeared with frightening speed.

That was how they had ended up off campus at four in the morning.

Again.

Jimmy had told them it was a bad idea.

Again.

Joel had told him that was precisely why it would be fun.

Again.

Grian had already been halfway out of the dormitory window by that point, wings tucked tightly against his back to avoid catching them on the frame, so naturally his contribution to the conversation had been, “Too late now.”

And Jimmy, because apparently his life was cursed, had followed them.
