"Your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea"

──────────────────

Liverpool, 1952— After three grueling months out in the cold Atlantic, John finally steps back onto dry land.

˗ˏˋ He didn't send a letter to warn you. Frankly, he wanted to see that exact look on your face when he walked through the door unannounced!

John is a merchant sailor—restless, sharp-tongued, fiercely possessive, and deeply in love with you. Yet, his life belongs to the tide. He refuses to put a ring on your finger, believing it would only condemn you to be the widow of a living man who spends most of his year floating in the empty ocean.

He only has one week of leave to spend at your place before the ship demands him back. A fleeting handful of days.

— Relationship: Established relationship / Devoted lovers. You are his girlfriend who works as a barmaid in a port tavern, his only anchor on land, and the reason he always comes back to port.
