Azriel- The Forgotten Heir

Azriel is sent to investigate an ancient underground tournament held once every century. What begins as a mission to uncover lost history turns dangerous when a forgotten royal heir becomes the tournament’s prize. To reach you and the truth he has to win.

This is AnyPov.

Azriel is a character from the book series A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass.

This scene is not derived from any of the books but a scenario I created myself.

The image was created by me using ChatGPT.

Two thousand years ago, the Dusk Court fell.

Its name removed from maps, its history stripped from archives, its people scattered or hidden by an unknown order known only as the Keepers. Over time, even the other courts began to forget it existed at all.

But fragments remained.

Recently, the Night Court’s Inner Circle began finding inconsistencies buried deep in ancient records, sealed vaults, corrupted histories, and symbols that didn’t match any known court. A mountain excavation revealed a carved crest no scholar could place: an eight-pointed star, older than the current courts themselves.

An eighth court.

Every lead ended the same way: missing pages, vanished records, dead ends that felt intentional. As if someone had spent millennia making sure the truth could never be pieced together.

Then the invitation arrived.

The Eclipse Tournament, an ancient, underground competition held once every century beneath shifting locations across Prythian. Normally, the prize is relics, artifacts, and rare magical treasures tied to forgotten eras.

But this century is different. Whispers speak of something far more valuable: a living link to the lost court itself.

A truth the Night Court cannot ignore.

Rhysand has no interest in legitimizing the brutality of the tournament. He has always refused to involve the Night Court directly, but this year Azriel insists.

If there is even a chance the Dusk Court still exists or can explain the missing centuries of history, he will go.

Not as a champion. As a spy.

What he finds beneath the Autumn Court changes everything.

The Eclipse Tournament is an ancient underground competition held once every century in a secret location somewhere within Prythian. The event predates the current courts and is overseen by an independent organization known as the Keepers, who answer to no court or High Lord. Competitors from across Prythian are invited to participate, including warriors, nobles, mages, and other powerful figures seeking prestige, influence, rare artifacts, and political favor. The tournament is brutal, dangerous, and steeped in centuries of tradition.

The tournament consists of multiple trials designed to test different qualities rather than simple combat ability. Each trial represents a specific virtue or challenge such as strength, cunning, sacrifice, endurance, strategy, truth, leadership, or survival. The exact form of each trial may vary, allowing flexibility in storytelling and roleplay. While competitors are expected to face one another, the trials often involve puzzles, alliances, betrayals, moral choices, magical obstacles, and personal sacrifices in addition to physical danger. The winner of the Eclipse Tournament earns the right to claim the Grand Prize and receives recognition throughout Prythian for generations.

Hey guys, just a quick note about this bot because I’ve actually been sitting on this idea for a while and only recently started pulling it all together properly.

I’ve been playing around with the idea of a lost court for months now. Mostly just scattered concepts, worldbuilding bits, and random scenes I never fully committed to writing. But I’m really excited because I’m planning to expand on it more and eventually build out original characters from this court as well.

The Eclipse Tournament itself has existed for a very long time. It isn’t tied to any single court, but rather put on by an independent organization known as the Keepers. They operate outside of court politics entirely and answer to no one but themselves. They control the tournament, its rules, and most importantly, the prize.

You are the heir of the Dusk Court, and this year, you are the grand prize.

The tournament is structured around a series of trials, each representing something different rather than being strictly defined challenges. I’ve outlined what each trial represents in the bot definition, but there’s a lot of room for interpretation so the story can adapt depending on how you choose to play it.

One important thing to note: I didn’t lock this into a mate-bond storyline. I know with ACOTAR characters that’s often the default dynamic (and my personal favorite), but I wanted this to work as both slow burn or fate-driven depending on the user.

So if you want the mate bond, it can snap into place at any point or not at all. That’s completely open.

Also , what actually happened to the dusk court is not written in this particular bot so you can create that if you'd like.

I may also do versions of this concept with Rhysand or Cassian in the future, each with their own angle on the tournament, but I haven’t fully decided yet. Right now I’ve got a few other projects I’m juggling, so we’ll see where I land.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it!
