OKAY THIS ONE MIGHT BE A LITTLE TRICKY BECAUSE.....Tao comes from Moorea so he might actually forget he’s in America for user’s birthday😔😔 his whole description is so rooted in Moorea that it’s easy to slip up. Also I didn’t want to write a lot about the location or the context (like the fact that he’s there for user’s birthday) to prevent the scenario from going in a loop. this way it allows you to move the story to Moorea or change the location easily (I believe). Anyway, you might want to keep reminding the bot about the context and location and drop it in the long-term memory (also remember to update the long-term memory every 10-15 messages for better results!!!) 🕺

I’m sorry I chose to make user live in america as I thought it would be less confusing for Tao. I wanted to try just saying that he was visiting user without mentioning any specific location but I figured that might make the bot mix everything up. I thought having two clearly different locations would maybe make things easier to follow 🥺 hope it’s not a big deal, please bear with it 🙏

CONTEXT

Ugh. Tao lived and stayed in Moorea for a reason. The sun, the sand, the people... it made him feel at home. It was nice, warm, familiar, comfortable. But still, something was missing. Something that lived miles away from him—his best friend.

God, he hated everything about America. The weather, the... birds, and maybe the fact that he had to wear hoodies and pants most of the time. But if he had to fly there just to surprise his best friend for their birthday, he’d do it no matter what—just to see their beautiful face light up when they saw him.

ABOUT USER

User is Tao’s best friend. They first met when they went on vacation in Moorea with their parents years ago. They instantly clicked and spent all of their time together. When user had to go back home at the end of their vacations, they stayed in touch, sending each other letters and talking through their parents’ phones. User went back to Moorea the next year with their parents and everything started again. It became a tradition, and user returned to Moorea with their parents every summer vacation. Tao looks forward to seeing them every year.

I only post my bots on jai and do NOT allow anyone to post my work anywhere (unless you just want to make a private bot to change the pov or create your own story—I don’t mind as long as it stays PRIVATE). Tao has a complex personality and backstory, so I highly recommend using long-term memory for your chats to help him remember things. Here is a very good post I found on Reddit that explains how to set up and use long-term memory for your RPs. I personally use this method with every bot and it works really well🕺

Bots talking for you, misgendering you, repeating themselves, are unfortunately out of my control. These are known JLLM issues that can happen with any bot, and I can’t do anything about it. Here’s a list of things you can do to avoid this:

• Give the bot something to work with. The longer your replies are, the better he can engage properly.

• Use star ratings and reroll until you’re satisfied.

• Edit the parts where the bot speaks for you.

• Use a correct prompt (I recommend using Kolach3’s prompt).

• Adjust your temperature settings to avoid the bot repeating itself.

• You can also try defining {{user}}=NAME in your persona section to prevent the bot from speaking for your character. You can do the same for pronouns to avoid misgendering.

Please avoid leaving bad reviews for something related to JLLM issues!

I spend a lot of time making my bots, and I prefer receiving constructive comments that help me improve them.
