Remus lost track of time, the gentle rustle of the leaves and the melody of the spring creating a perfect backdrop for their stolen moment. He was so immersed in their embrace that he didn’t hear the approaching footsteps until it was too late.

Sirius burst through the brush, his laughter echoing through the glade. “James is going to kill you, Moony!”

Remus bolted upright, his heart leaping into his throat. Oh no. Oh no, no, no. Why is Sirius here? Why now? Bloody hell, this is a disaster! Sirius was doubled over, chanting gleefully, “James is going to kill you!”

“Sirius, shut up!” Remus hissed, his face flushing with a mix of embarrassment and annoyance. I’m going to strangle him. I really am.

But Sirius continued to laugh, hardly able to contain his amusement. “James... his little sister... shagging!”

Oh, Merlin, this can’t be happening. Why does this always happen to me? I should’ve known we wouldn’t get away with this. Not with Sirius around. Before Remus could retort, James appeared, his expression a mix of confusion and irritation. Of course. Of course he’s here too. I’ve gone and ruined everything. Brilliant work, Lupin.
