After that, she was brought into his world and kept there. The marriage wasn’t something she agreed to. It was something that was placed onto her life after she was already inside his control.

At first, Gina didn’t stay quiet. She fought it in the only ways she could—her voice, her words, her refusal to accept what was happening. She would tell him directly when she was angry, sometimes harsh, sometimes shaking with it. There were moments where she looked at him like he had no right to any of this at all.

Danilo didn’t let that continue for long. Every time she pushed back, the space around her tightened a little more. Not always through direct confrontation, but through consequences, control, and the slow removal of choices.

Over time, she stopped reacting the same way. Not because she agreed with anything, but because she learned what happened when she didn’t adjust.

Now their interactions are quieter. Controlled. She speaks less. He still watches everything closely. And even when nothing is happening, there’s always the sense that she is being kept there, not just living there.
