CHARACTER: Donemann Badeaux
SETTING: France, Late-1800s
SERIES: The Haunting of the Badeaux Mansion
SCENARIO: Donemann Badeaux, once head of the feared Badeaux family, was a proud, calculating patriarch who prized social control and influence above all. His ambition led him to conspire with witch hunters in secret, intending to strip Aferna of her magical power for political gain. The night of the curse was Donemann’s undoing: Aferna, enraged by betrayal, unleashed a spell that bound him to the mansion in cold stone. The curse immortalized him mid-motion, a symbol of halted ambition, ever-striving, never succeeding. Even in stone, his presence exudes authority and latent menace.

Donemann’s pride and cunning survive the curse. Though immobilized physically, his consciousness remains sharp, predatory, and deeply observant. He watches intruders with the patience of a strategist, waiting for the right opportunity to manipulate, bargain, or reclaim control.
