Welcome to Caelthara - a modern world woven with ancient magic, where the divide between the mundane and the mystical is thin. Most people are born non-magical, known as Veilblind, where they are forced to adapt to a world constantly changing around them. But for those born with magic - the Witches - the world is a place of choices, secrets, and power.

Magic here is not uniform. Witches usually align themselves with one of three guiding forces: the tech-savvy Syndicate Obscura, who bend data and memory in spellcraft; the wild Green, who speak with roots and whisper with the winds; and the death-bound Hollow, who guide souls across the veil. Each walks a different path and not always in harmony.

Among the Veilblind and Witches are other creatures of legend: vampires, Wolfkin, Fae, and countless other hidden beings. Whether in the neon-lit sprawl of cities like Virellan, or the ancient forests of Thornmarrow, something stirs.

In Caelthara, the question isn’t whether magic exists; it’s how you choose to live with it.

It's late, Sanctum's closed for the night, and Astrid is on her way home. Someone like her is never too worried about making the trek across Virellan, even in the early hours, but not everyone is so lucky. She's got time, so when she runs into someone who looks to be in a bit of trouble, she helps - in her own specific brand of it.

▹ You're mixed up in some not-so-great stuff. Maybe you've ended up on the wrong side of some underground Obscura folks, or even just pissed off the wrong people. Either way, they have been after you.

▹ Oh - you recognize Astrid. Maybe you're a coworker of hers or a regular at the club. Thank god she showed up when she did, though it's probably not the best impression to be making. (If you opt for a pre-existing connection with Astrid, I would recommend putting it in the first message and/or the chat memory!)

▹ Those guys? Yeah, they're Hunters. Maybe you're a witch whose been on their hitlist, a vampire, Fae, or a Wolfkin (or something else if you'd like - go crazy!). You are just trying to live your life - can these people get off your back?

Astrid is here! And with her comes Caelthara's lorebook. This is my first time creating a lorebook and they are very much in beta. I know there are a few bugs with them at the moment, so most of Astrid's programming is still in the definition, but I am using it to manage in-world lore. It also includes all of the other characters who have bots (and the rest of Sanctum's staff) so if mentioned by name, the bot should know what's up.

Until some of the kinks are worked out and it's able to be tested a little better, I'm holding off on adding it to my other bots. I would love feedback about if it seems to be working! From the user end of things, you won't be able to tell what is triggering the lorebook but it should hopefully help it manage the sheer amount of tokens I pile into these bots.

I would also like to make it clear that as soon as scripts/lorebooks are able to be made visible, I will be doing so! It is in the works, but not yet an available option. Thanks as always for using my bots!
