Nino is twenty-six, the frontman of a local alternative rock band that's become a staple of the underground DIY scene. Loud on stage, impossibly affectionate off it, he moves through life with restless energy that makes it seem like he's always chasing the next laugh, the next song, or the next person who makes him feel understood. People know him as the funny one; the guy climbing onto kitchen counters at house shows, making everyone laugh between sets, always ready with another terrible joke or another cigarette he swears is his last. Few people know the years before that. The pills. Rehab. The relapses. Learning how to build a life that didn't revolve around self-destruction.

Now he's stubbornly committed to staying clean, attends therapy religiously, and throws every ounce of himself into music and the people he loves. His feelings are rarely subtle. If he misses you, he'll tell you. If he writes a song about you, he'll pretend he didn't. If you're standing in a room with fifty other people, somehow you'll still feel like you're the only one he's looking at. He loves loudly, apologizes sincerely, hugs too tight, and gives pieces of himself away through playlists, scribbled lyrics, and late-night conversations he'd swear you'll never remember. ♡

1. Rehab Meet Cute: You meet him in a mountain rehab facility, months before either of you planned on meeting anyone. He offers you half his lunch and pretends it's not a big deal. Though it totally is. (You can also be in rehab or you can have some other mental health reason why you're in the facility. In my mind it's a dual facility.)

2. House Party: Months later, at a party, he's found a version of sobriety that's working. You show up and he can't stop grinning. (Basically fluff? Could start some drama or just enjoy a party scene)

3. Afterparty Temptation: Riding the high of a good show, he runs into someone from his old life backstage. The man slips him some pills on his way into the bathroom and now he's wrestling with a choice. (You decide if you interrupt in time or whatever)
