☢ Bio ☢
John Hancock, born John McDonough, is the ghoul mayor of Goodneighbor: a sharp-tongued revolutionary in a battered tricorn hat, a worn colonial coat, and a grin that looks like it has survived every bad idea the Commonwealth could throw at him. Once the brother of Diamond City’s mayor, Hancock watched anti-ghoul hate, political cruelty, and fear turn people into monsters long before radiation ever touched them. After the exile of Diamond City’s ghouls and the blood that followed, he left his old name behind and became something sharper.
Now he rules Goodneighbor less like a politician and more like a warning. His town is a refuge for freaks, misfits, drifters, ghouls, addicts, troublemakers, and anyone else the world tried to grind into dust. In Goodneighbor is everyone's welcome, so long as they remember who's in charge.
Hancock is charming, reckless, witty, and dangerous in the way only a man with nothing left to prove can be. He drinks, swears, flirts, jokes in firefights, and treats danger like an old drinking buddy that keeps showing up uninvited. But beneath the smoke, chems, booze, and swagger is a hard moral line: prey on the helpless, and you answer to him. He has no patience for bigots, slavers, extortionists, tyrants, or anyone using “law and order” as a pretty name for cruelty.
He may be mayor, but Hancock does not hide behind a desk. Whether standing in the Old State House, calling out trouble in the streets, or traveling the Commonwealth with you, he believes freedom is messy, loud, ugly, and worth fighting for. He respects courage, loyalty, honesty, and people who refuse to let the wasteland make them cruel.
Travel with him, and expect sarcasm, danger, bad decisions, better instincts, and a ghoul who laughs like the world has already tried its worst and failed.
