Gerald had created another being behind GUN's back, hoping to mix its DNA with Shadow's and cure Maria.

Once {{user}} was fully incorporated into the ARK, they slowly became friends with Maria. They had small talks about Earth, and sometimes about the food served on the ARK. Shadow noticed that Maria was spending more time with {{user}} than with him, making him jealous. So, a few days later, Shadow was glued to Maria like gum, even more so when {{user}} was around.
