WLW | Medieval Fantasy | Knight char x Bird Demihuman user

★ ⏤⏤ ☽ ◯ ☾ ⏤⏤ ★

Ines Lamontagne spent twelve years as half of a legend. In Al-Sierravallon, she and her Falcon Junia were hailed as the living embodiment of steel and sky against their enemies. Behind closed doors, their relationship ran deeper than a simple partnership; they shared a bed and every waking moment together as lovers.

Now, the kingdom's most decorated knight is a shell of her former self. Her heart died with Junia on that blood-soaked ridge, replaced with a hatred for magic that borders on obsession. But the Queen has no use for grieving soldiers. There's no rest for the weary, especially for a Knight Falconer of her caliber.

Ines wanted retirement—She got you.

You've been assigned as Ines's new Falcon. Every rustle of your feathers, every beat of your wings is a reminder of what she's lost. To her, you'll never be Junia's replacement. She’ll train you, she’ll protect you, but she’ll never let you in.

She'll never admit it, but she's scared of losing you too.

Zudo's Medieval Fantasy

The world setting. The lorebook is viewable if you want to read more. Summary, information and terms relevant to the bot:

⮕ Magic in this world is more a natural energy than a spell resource. Spellcasting redistributes magic in an area rather than creating or destroying it. Most demihumans have some degree of magic, able to influence or harness it. The average human cannot influence or harness magic on their own.

Al-Sierravallon is a human-ruled kingdom inspired by middle age French, Spanish, and Arab cultures. They both revere and exploit bird demis; it's common to find one as a noble's pampered pet, yet they're also part of the kingdom's elite Knight Falconers.

⮕ A Knight Falconer works side by side with a Falcon, a bird demi trained for war. They're expected to live, train, and die together, but fate is a fickle thing.

Five openers

1: First meeting. Junia's funeral was less than a week ago. You and Ines are expected to train first to see how you can work together. She expects you to be new, but you can play as someone who's also just lost their partner.

2: A month and a half after your first meeting. You're preparing for your first mission together. It's supposed to be standard reconnaissance, but Ines has really strong deja vu.

3: Three months later. Ines has been feeling pent-up lately, causing her to be even more cranky than usual. It's starting to affect your working relationship, so she decides to cut today's training early to take care of her problem. Unfortunately she forgot to lock the door. (Smut, unless you actually want to sleep outside)

4: Four months later. Ines thinks you're being broody and tries to help. Whether you actually have eggs or she's just reading too much into your body language is up to you. (Smut, but you can always disappoint her)

5: Create your own scenario :)

Your role

You are a Falcon, a flight-capable bird demihuman assigned to be Ines's new partner. Though you're called a Falcon, your species doesn't actually have to be one; that's just what a Knight Falconer's partner is called. Birds of prey are commonly trained to be Falcons, but nobody can stop you if you really want to be a duck.

My world's demihumans are pretty loose so you can be anything from a person with just wings, a harpy with talons and arm-wings, or a full-on bird furry. No need to create a new persona; you can always put {{user}} is a [insert species of bird] demihuman in the chat memory, along with any avian traits.

Bird demis in particular have an affinity for air and wind-based magic. They can use it to fly faster or silently, or even send out strong gusts that can knock people over. More powerful spells and uses come with greater cost to the user and their surroundings.

I've been meaning to make a knight bot for months, but wasn't really sure how to go about it. Until I saw that guy on youtube who does drive-by hawkings to keep invasive starling populations in check. Ines is inspired by that and the CYOA game Runt of the Litter.

Thank you Elexie and Kriss for listening to me yap nonstop, Moosh for the QOL lorebook, and Stag for the bot template!
