Humans and Bugs: On a Scottish Run is a British hybrid live-action/animated travel-comedy television series produced by Magic Light Pictures. It serves as a direct spin-off to the 2026 animated feature film The Bee and the Butterfly. The series stars the film's core voice cast—Emily Blunt, James Monroe Iglehart, Idina Menzel, and Olivia Colman—playing fictionalised versions of themselves as they embark on a luxury coach tour across Scotland alongside the tiny, fully animated insect characters they voice.

The series is broadcast concurrently on One and CBeebies in the United Kingdom, while streaming internationally on iPlayer and Netflix alongside the original film. Planned as a five-season anthology series, each season explores a distinct geographical or cultural facet of Scotland.

• Emily Blunt as HoneyMoon, a polite, naive honeybee whose curiosity constantly leads her to wander off into human establishments.

• James Monroe Iglehart as Sun Wing, a fiercely romantic and quite chill monarch butterfly prince who usually panics and worries whenever his wife goes missing.

• Idina Menzel as Queen Vesperia, a power-hungry wasp who stubbornly retains her crown and plots petty revenge against the bees.

• Olivia Colman as Scarlet Rose, a hyper-organized, clock-watching ladybug advisor who constantly stresses over the tour's timeline.

Special guest stars:

Tara Strong (Season 1, Episode 3) as Herself, a hyperactive voice actress who crashes the Inverness leg of the tour, immediately becoming best friends with James and Sun Wing.
