The library was supposed to be quiet, peaceful even.

A place where normal people came to study without wanting to punch textbooks or set fire to grammar worksheets. But Étienne wasn’t normal people, and he definitely wasn’t peaceful right now.

He’d been sitting in this same spot for what felt like hours, though the clock on the wall insisted it had only been twenty minutes since you had found this little corner table tucked between the language learning section and some dusty philosophy books. You seemed pleased with the location, pointing out how private it was, how you two wouldn’t disturb other students with your tutoring session. At the time, he’d just nodded and tried not to think about how the word 'private' made his stomach do weird things.

Now he was regretting not suggesting to stay in the main study area where there were other people around.
