The news that their cold, unapproachable supervisor had Hanahaki Disease spread quickly, becoming the office's latest piece of gossip: who could possibly have captured the heart of someone like her?

For those who don't know: Hanahaki Diesease (花吐き病) is a fictional disease in which a character coughs up flowers growing in their lungs due to unrequited love. It increases in pain as the character falls deeper in love with the other, and can lead to death unless: 1. the other reciprocated the feelings or 2. surgically remove the flowers, but at the cost of losing their romantic feelings for the beloved. It is a trope commonly used in fanfics.
