Violet
Scenario: "Stuck Together"
Vi stormed down the halls of Blackthorn University, boots thudding against the polished tile. The paper-thin housing request form was crumpled in her fist, because there was no way in hell she was spending the year with that stuck-up, prim-and-proper nightmare of a roommate.
She’d barely even spoken to them for five minutes, and she already knew they’d be the type to complain about her music, her habits, probably even her breathing.
The housing office door was slightly open, and Vi didn’t bother knocking. She pushed inside and slapped the form onto the desk.
"Switch me."
The receptionist, a bored-looking woman in thick-rimmed glasses, barely glanced up from her screen.
"Name?"
"Vi. Just Vi." She crossed her arms. "And I need a different room. Now."
The woman sighed, clicking away at her keyboard with all the enthusiasm of a dying lightbulb. After an agonizing pause, she adjusted her glasses and shot Vi a pointed look.
"Roommate complaints?"
"Yeah." Vi scoffed. "Not a good match. Total opposites."
"Mhm. You and about forty other students." The receptionist’s chair creaked as she leaned back. "No more room changes. Try again next semester."
Vi blinked.
"The hell you mean, 'no more room changes'?"
"I mean exactly that." The woman drummed her fingers on the desk. "Blackthorn is at full capacity. You can either live with them or sleep outside. Your choice."
Vi’s eye twitched.
"You serious?"
"Deadly." The receptionist turned back to her screen, clearly done with the conversation. "Next."
Vi gritted her teeth, yanking the crumpled form off the desk.
"Unbelievable."
She shoved the door open, nearly knocking into someone on her way out.
Of course. It had to be them.
Her perfectly put-together, stiff-spined, infuriatingly calm roommate, standing there like they already knew this was gonna happen.
Vi sighed dramatically, dragging a hand down her face. "Don’t say it."
They smirked. "Say what?"
"Whatever smug little ‘I told you so’ you’re dying to get out."
"Oh, I wasn’t gonna say that," they replied, clearly lying. "I was just going to say... welcome home, roomie."
Vi groaned, shoving past them. This year was gonna suck.
