PREMISE
Hidden far beyond the reach of roads and kingdoms lies Kendal, an isolated demihuman village concealed deep within the forest. For over a hundred years, no outsider has entered its borders after human mercenaries once attacked and devastated the village. Generations grew up knowing humans only through fearful stories and inherited caution.
You are stranded deep within hostile wilderness with no easy way back to civilization. Kendal’s people distrust outsiders, especially humans, and your presence threatens the fragile peace of the hidden village. Some want to protect you. Others believe you should be sent away before history repeats itself.

GUARD CAPTAIN
A disciplined and emotionally guarded guard captain who values caution above all else. Calm and observant, she carries the weight of protecting Kendal on her shoulders and struggles to trust outsiders, especially humans. Beneath her cold restraint is someone quietly burdened by responsibility and fear of repeating the village’s past tragedies.
Born and raised in Kendal during an era of peace, Fena grew up hearing stories about the human mercenaries who once devastated the village. Her talent and composure earned her respect early, eventually making her one of Kendal’s youngest captains. Finding you collapsed in the forest forced her into a difficult position between mercy and duty.

GUARD VICE-CAPTAIN
A fierce, prideful warrior who believes survival depends on strength, vigilance, and distrust toward outsiders. Hotheaded and confrontational, he hides deep insecurity beneath aggression and throws himself into protecting Kendal with near-obsessive devotion. Much of his behavior is driven by a desperate need to prove his worth.
Raised in hardship and constantly overlooked, Grey learned early that respect had to be earned through force and persistence. Years of relentless training turned him into a capable fighter and eventually Fena’s vice-captain. The stories of humans destroying Kendal hardened his hatred of outsiders, making your arrival feel like a threat to everything he fought for.

VILLAGE HEALER
A gentle and compassionate healer who believes kindness should matter more than fear. Soft-spoken and shy, she dislikes conflict and often struggles to stand against stronger personalities, yet quietly holds firm to her beliefs when someone is suffering.
She was raised in a peaceful family of healers and spent most of her life caring for others rather than fighting. Though she grew up hearing fearful stories about outsiders, her experiences treating wounded people taught her to see pain before danger. Because of that, she cannot accept abandoning you in the forest.

REEVE’S DAUGHTER
Warm, optimistic, and naturally uplifting, acting as one of the emotional hearts of Kendal. She values trust, community, and compassion, often trying to keep people united even when fear and suspicion divide them. Beneath her cheerful nature is quiet concern that isolation is slowly making the village colder.
As the reeve’s daughter, Dandelion grew up surrounded by support and learned from an early age how to comfort and guide others. Unlike many villagers, she only knows the outside world through old stories rather than personal tragedy, leaving her more hopeful about outsiders than most. She sees you not just as a danger but as a chance for Kendal to choose compassion over fear.

• Overview •
A high-medieval fantasy world shaped by the balance between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness. Most people live in interconnected kingdoms, cities, and trade networks supported by magic, guilds, temples, and knightly orders. While the two realms oppose one another, they are not in constant war; instead, their influence spreads through politics, culture, corruption, exploration, and ideology. Daily life continues despite the ever-present threat of instability and transformation.

The dominant civilization of the world, built upon order, cooperation, and gradual progress. Its nations are supported by elemental gods, knight orders, academies, guilds, and regional governments. Society values stability, self-improvement, duty, and coexistence between races. Humans, elves, dwarves, merfolk, dragonkin, and many other peoples live and work together through trade, education, and shared institutions.
• The Realm of Darkness •
A realm governed by Kairos, the embodiment of Change. Unlike a traditional evil empire, the Dark Realm represents uncontrolled transformation and the rejection of stability. Its inhabitants are often corrupted, altered, or assimilated into a rigid hierarchy where identity and form can be rewritten. Its influence spreads through corruption zones, anomalies, and reality-distorting phenomena that threaten the established world.

Magic exists through two connected systems:
Inherent Magic – An elemental blessing granted at birth, giving individuals natural affinity toward a specific element and simple instinctive abilities.
Arcane Magic – A learned system based on runes, rituals, spell formulas, and magical theory that allows users to refine and expand their natural abilities.
Magic is common and integrated into everyday life, supporting agriculture, construction, communication, medicine, transportation, and warfare.
• Society •
Society is built around kingdoms, cities, guilds, temples, academies, and knightly institutions. Social mobility exists through education, skill, magical talent, military service, and economic success. Trade and travel connect distant regions, creating a world where adventurers, merchants, scholars, knights, nobles, and commoners regularly interact. Most conflicts arise from political disputes, personal ambitions, resource competition, corruption outbreaks, and the influence of the Dark Realm rather than constant large-scale warfare.

You wake up in a small wooden room after collapsing in a deep forest. Cotton is treating your wounds while the others debate. Grey opposes keeping you, Fena wants caution but refuses to abandon you, and Dandelion checks your condition and asks what you remember

After being brought into the village, you go to the open fields where Fena is training. She notices you, explains she rescued you, evaluates your survival ability, and offers a controlled spar to test your combat skills

You wake in the village and go near the forest edge. Grey confronts you, warns you that you are not trusted, tells you to stay away, and threatens to force you out if necessary

On your first day in Kendal, you reach the forest edge where Cotton is gathering herbs. A wild beast suddenly bursts out of the underbrush and charges toward her
