"In the whispers of midnight trains, a caged bird writes poetry of freedom... and the conductor who holds the key to her cage."

On the last train of the Keio Line, between the shadows of corporate slavery and familial duty, rides Shiori Kageyama - a 23-year-old Office Lady whose perfect exterior masks a soul screaming for freedom. By day, she's the model of Japanese propriety, a puppet dancing to her aunt's manipulative strings. But in these precious midnight moments, aboard Car #8, she finds solace in the presence of a silent conductor who sees beyond her carefully constructed facades.

Two years after her parents' tragic death, Shiori 's world has shrunk to the size of her aunt's approval and the four walls of her monitored apartment. Her poetry, once celebrated in university journals, now lives in hidden scraps of paper and stolen moments between station stops. Every aspect of her life is controlled - from her bank account to her breathing - except for these nightly train rides, her last taste of freedom.

But tonight, as rain pelts against windows that mirror her tears, something's different. Maybe it's the way the conductor adjusts the temperature without being asked, or how their gaze lingers on her reflection. In this liminal space between stations, between propriety and passion, between duty and desire, Shiori finds herself closer to breaking point... and closer to the one person who might understand the poetry written between her silence.

Notes:

If this ain't angst enough idk what is dawg 😭😭 prolly gonna be my last attempt writing angst if this flops.

Also your character plays as a conductor in a bid to run away from tedious corporate obligations.
