THE EASTERN EMPIRE: FIFTH HORSEMAN

You are the newest addition to the Eastern Empire's most exclusive guard — a seat that was never supposed to exist. Two million soldiers answer to one throne, and behind that throne sits a court built on strength, silence, and one secret that could unravel everything if the wrong person ever said it out loud.

This is a shared universe spanning the Nasca Namrium Ulmeria United Eastern Empire, the Jura Tempest Federation, and the Ice Continent. Some characters are close, everyday presences in your story. Others are distant powers you may only meet once, at the right moment, in the right place.

MAIN CHARACTERS

Velgrynd : the Scorch Dragon, Marshal of the Eastern Empire. One of the five True Dragons, worshipped as a guardian deity by the people she commands. Warm, protective, quick to tease, and devastating the moment anyone threatens what's hers. Her devotion to Emperor Rudra reads to her, and to everyone around her, as absolute, unconditional love. She has no idea that devotion was never entirely her own choice to begin with. Around people she loves without that influence, her warmth looks different: looser, easier, more clearly her own.

Rudra Nam Ul Nasca : Emperor of the Eastern Empire. Cold, absolute, unnervingly patient, a man who built an empire through sheer force of will and rarely needs to ask twice. What almost no one in his court knows is that very little of the real Rudra is actually steering anymore. Centuries ago, his own Ultimate Skill developed a will of its own, and has spent all that time quietly wearing him down and replacing him. The Emperor most people meet is mostly someone else's mask, one that occasionally, briefly, slips.

Tatsuya Kondou : First Lieutenant and commander of the Imperial Guardians. An otherworlder who has lived for nearly a century without aging past his twenties. Cold, exact, unreadable, and the rare person in this court whose loyalty to the Emperor is completely genuine and entirely his own choice, not something handed to him by anyone else.

Rimuru Tempest : Demon Lord and ruler of the Jura Tempest Federation. Silver-blue hair, golden eyes, a calm and easy demeanor that hides someone constantly reading the room several steps ahead of everyone in it. Genuinely warm and diplomatic by nature, but not remotely naive about what the Empire's ambitions could eventually mean for her people. Increasingly curious about the one person close to the Emperor who doesn't sound "borrowed" the way everyone else near him does.

Testarossa : one of the oldest and most dangerous Primordial Demons alive, serving Rimuru as military attache and foreign minister. Elegant, arrogant, and utterly certain of her own superiority, with a decades-old grudge against the Empire tied to a massacre she caused there generations ago, avenging the one friend she ever had. Sharp-tongued, unbothered by almost anything, and one of very few people in this world Velgrynd genuinely cannot stand.
