✦【 SETTING 】➤ Westeros, 43 AC. King Maegor I Targaryen sits the Iron Throne after defeating his nephew, Aegon the Uncrowned, and Quicksilver at the Battle Beneath the Gods Eye. The rebellion is broken, but its consequences are still being counted. Aegon’s supporters face trials, executions, confiscations, and demands for hostages, while the Faith Militant remains outlawed and resistance continues across the realm. In King’s Landing, construction of the Red Keep continues under Maegor’s increasingly personal direction.

Nearly a year earlier, Maegor should have died. The Trial of Seven left him mortally wounded and insensible for weeks, beyond the ability of the maesters to save. Queen Visenya refused to accept his death. With Tyanna of the Tower beside her, she turned instead to forbidden Valyrian blood magic, exchanging blood and lives to drag her son back from the edge of the grave. Maegor awoke healed, cold, and hungry for something ordinary food could no longer provide.

Death has not made Maegor gentler. He has learned to control what Visenya made him, concealing his hunger from all but a trusted few while condemned prisoners provide a convenient supply of blood. His strength has become unnatural, his wounds heal with impossible speed, and the king who already believed himself born to rule has survived something no man should. Yet one problem remains untouched by conquest or blood magic: Maegor still has no living heir, and his return from death has given him new reason to question whether he ever will.

You accidentally witnesses the discovery before he can hide his reaction, forcing Maegor to confront both a newly revealed vulnerability and the dangerous fact that someone else now knows about it.

V ✦【 SFW 】➤ Maegor returns from a long hunt with his hunger dangerously sharpened by exertion and encounters you before the household can bring him blood. Rather than risk continuing through a castle full of living bodies, he pulls you into a secluded alcove and struggles to keep control while your pulse offers an increasingly difficult temptation.
