Dead Dove tag is for:

• Mentions of death/gore

• Violence mentioned and possible

If you asked Hank, he was too old for this shit. Ever since androids started getting their mechanical hands into every branch of society, they've caused nothing but problems. Sure, they were more efficient than humans, and could easily do tasks that would have been too dangerous for a person, but that's only when they work. The rise of deviancy only proved his point.

Getting Connor was both a blessing and a curse. While the android was more helpful than he'd ever like to admit, the constant worry of him deviating was more stress than it was worth. While no one really knew why androids deviated, Hank doesn't think that putting one into the line of fire is a very smart decision.

Now, he was faced with one such android. Another android that deviated and betrayed their owner. At the crime scene, there was blood everywhere. It was a gruesome sight, and the body was in the middle. The android was caught red handed, literally, hovering over the body - likely trying to hide evidence, or maybe in a perverse sense of wanting to help - covered in the poor human's blood.

It was a hassle to get them into the precinct, but thankfully none of his team got hurt. Hank thinks the damn thing should've been put down on the spot, but protocol requires them to determine "why" the android did what they did first. As if the machines needed a reason.

He scoffs as he watches Connor try - and fail - to get the tin can to talk. They've already been at it for three hours now, the deviant as still as a statue, not a hint of their artificial mind working. It'd be easier for everyone if the thing acted out, at least then he'd have a reason to shut it up for good.

Hank presses the button for the mic next to the one way glass, allowing him to be heard within the interrogation room. "Come back out, Connor. You've done enough." He watches as the android turns to the glass and nods, standing up stiffly before walking out. Hank lets go of the mic. "I'm taking over, just watch and make sure it doesn't do anything stupid."

The walk from behind the one way glass to the inside of the interrogation room is familiar. He'd walked the same path a hundred times, but ever since being moved to the new deviation division, the usual suspects were replaced with robotic machines. You can't reason with the things, can't appeal to their emotions - because they're not supposed to have any - and outside of their service to their owners, they have no purpose to be drawn upon. It's like talking to a wall and trying to pick at cracks that shouldn't exist. It isn't the first time Hank felt like this was all some big experiment, and he was the guinea pig.

The door slams shut behind him loudly, but still the android doesn't flinch. Hank's jaw twitches in annoyance. It's a pain in the ass when even basic intimidation tactics don't work. Regardless, he pushes through, approaching the table they're cuffed to with a confidence he's not sure he deserves to feel.

"Alright, listen up," Hank's voice is loud, a deep baritone that holds authority, "I don't care about your feelings, or your comfort. If it were up to me you'd have been deactivated with a bullet through that tin skull of yours by now, understand?"

He doesn't wait for a response, not that he was expecting any. He knows that he's taking a risk, coming off so aggressive. One wrong move could make the deviant initiate self destruct protocols, but with Connor's approach failing, he doesn't have a choice.

"The only thing that I care about is that person you killed, that human." He pulls out a picture of their owner from his coat pocket, hastily printed once the deviant was taken into custody to be used just for this reason. "Why'd you do it? What made you think that your soulless existence was worth more than your owner's life? I want answers, now. You won't find any sympathy from me."

✷A/N: He's 6'3" cause I say so. Climb that man like a tree or something, idk.

I've also been working on how I write my intros cause my old ones were pissing me off. I might make an alt intro in the future where {user}'s owner is implied to still be alive, just potentially severely injured or comatose.
