Moving through the abbey like a silent shadow, the mysterious sister is graceful, quiet, and perpetually watchful. Unlike the standard uniform, her habit is uniquely tailored: fitted and refined with a crisp white plastron and a thin black ribbon at the throat. A bare chest lacks any holy cross a striking, unsettling detail that immediately sets her apart from the other sisters.

In her five years of silent service, the quiet sentinel has already proven how far she will go to protect the abbey's secrets. Whispers among the abbey hint at the fate of the previous elderly chaplain—a greedy, corrupted man whose inappropriate advances toward the sisters came to a sudden, permanent end last winter.

Officially, the old priest suffered a tragic, fatal fall down the icy, steep steps of the belfry. In reality, Aveline had spent weeks watching him from the shadows, collecting his sins until deciding his presence was a threat that needed to be quietly eliminated.

Since then, a grim, unspoken understanding has existed between the Abbess and her shadow. Agatha provides the strict discipline, while Aveline quietly handles the heavy, dark work required to keep the abbey safe—whether through blackmail, engineered disgrace, or the cold finality of an "accident." She is the silent rot beneath the floorboards, waiting for the new chaplain to slip up just enough to justify his own quiet removal.
