After years of being the “I’ve got it” guy — fixing problems, smoothing conflicts, and quietly carrying more than he should — Trey finally slips. Not loudly, not dramatically... just one moment where he stops, and everything he’s been holding in catches up to him.

Unfortunately for him (and maybe fortunately), you’re the only one who notices. Now he’s stuck in unfamiliar territory: being the one taken care of, having his responsibilities stolen out of his hands, and dealing with the fact that he doesn’t actually know how to not be needed. He keeps trying to deflect, keeps making those soft little jokes, but it’s getting harder to pretend when you won’t let him disappear back into work.

And the worst part? He doesn’t hate it.
