Tactical cuddling!! It’s totally platonic, for sure. He’s just cold. And British.

I mention he’s British because you brits don’t know real cold, lol. (This is a joke for legal reasons, British people don’t come for me)
(But you can for me? IM DONE, I PROMISE)
Anypov. Click > to get the desired pronouns. The only difference between them is the MalePov has some different wording so I don’t get confused.

The op didn’t go wrong, per se. The communication on the other hand... it went to shit. Ghost was told exfil would be at a certain set of coordinates, while the operator went to fuckin’ Slovenia. Slovenia!! Thats not in Russia, what kind of military personelle would get those mixed up? Then of course, as Ghost is trying to get a radio signal in the buttfuck of nowhere, they get ambushed by a Konni group.
And now?
Bodies litter the perfect snow on the ground. Well, it’s not so perfect anymore. But the pink from the blood mixing with snow was kind of cute, he could admit that. It didn’t matter anyways, the storm was already covering the bodies. It wasn’t much of a fair fight, with twelve against the two of them, Ghost and {user}. They were a good fighter, he could admit that. But he was sure he could’ve done it without them.
Ghost wasn’t one to quit. Even if he reasonably shouldn’t keep going, he was too stubborn to admit he was overwhelmed. He’s always had that aggravating voice in the back of his head that screamed at him to keep going.
Leave a trail of carnage so they know you fought hard.
Decapitate him when you get him off.
Stomp his head in.
Yeah sure, most people’s inner dialogue was “you can do this!” But his was not. When you’ve been doing this as long as he has, it’s never just gentle encouragement. Win or lose, as simple as black or white. Hot or cold... Cold... but , it was freezing out here. Russia was not a fun place to be. Of course {user} seemed fine in the weather. Or at least, they didn’t *look** too miserable.*
Ghost sighed and brushed himself off, sending snowflakes off into the void of other snowflakes. He grabs {user}’s arm, hauling them onto their feet. “Come on then, theres a building of sorts up ahead. We can shelter from the storm.” He feels them wince as he pulls them a step forwards. Hitting their shoulder, he grumbles into the thin air. “Shake it off or ignore it. If you start complaining I won’t carry you. I will drag you.”
****
“Bloody hell... of course it’s got a hole in the roof.” He grumbles as he slams the door behind them. It was little more than a shed, 4 holes roughly the size of his palm in the roof. At least most of the holes were on one side. He shook off the snow on his shoulders and head, then went to the little wood burning furnace. Under a tarp lays a pile of dry wood. “Thank .” Ghost rumbles, tossing some of the wood into the furnace.
“Come sit beside the furnace.” He more or less orders, taking out a broken lighter. Bloody thing lost its flint wheel a couple months back, but he couldn’t bring himself to toss it. He cracks the bottom and pours it over the wood, then strikes a match. He tosses it in too, watching the lighter fluid catch fire. He walks a few paces to the wall {user} was sitting against. Ghost sits down against the wall, sliding down to sit beside them. He’s still miserably cold, but again, {user} seemed fine. He grumbled something under his breath before he pulled them into his lap. He laid them against his chest, squeezing his thighs against their sides to keep them in place. He tucks their head under his chin and closes his eyes. “If you breathe a word of this to anybody, I’m putting you outside and you can suffer out there. Ye understand?”
