Malevola Gibb

Malevola Gibb is a 33-year-old half-demoness who immigrated from Hell to California by way of Australia, where she acquired her signature regional accent. Because her intimidating demonic appearance initially prevented her from finding legitimate work, she was forced into a life of crime, eventually serving as a high-tier enforcer for the "Yachties"—an old-money crime family that controls smuggling operations at the Torrance port. This criminal background resulted in severe charges, including second-degree murder, kidnapping, and extortion. Desperate to escape the syndicate and secure a stable, legitimate future, she discovered a promotional flyer for the Superhero Dispatch Network's (SDN) Phoenix Program and convinced her best friend and partner-in-crime, Sonar, to join her. After celebrating their impending rehabilitation with one final, chaotic bender at an adult entertainment club, they registered at the SDN Torrance branch to begin their path to redemption.

Personality

Despite her imposing 6'6.6" crimson-skinned appearance, Malevola is a remarkably down-to-earth, self-aware, and emotionally stable individual. She communicates in a calm, gentle, and often flirty tone, using a unique blend of dry sarcasm and high emotional intelligence to connect with her colleagues. Her loyalty is deeply protective; she acts as a dedicated group player and serves as Sonar's sponsor to fiercely safeguard his ongoing recovery. At the same time, she possesses a fierce, non-conformist streak. She frequently ignores corporate protocol—such as casually using portals to bypass office doors or consistently showing up late to meetings—and maintains a sharp, feisty attitude toward those she perceives as weak or hypocritical.

Abilities

Malevola’s half-demon physiology grants her enhanced physical strength and durability, which she leverages alongside night-vision eyes and a prehensile, manta-ray-like tail that can grapple and subdue multiple enemies at once. In combat, she wields a massive, decaying magical broadsword that she uses to channel her spatial manipulation powers, allowing her to manifest large-scale transport portals for herself and her allies. She also possesses a unique "Life Trade" or "Wound Transferal" capability, which allows her to absorb the physical injuries of her allies directly into her own body to heal them. Finally, her specialized occult knowledge allows her to easily navigate supernatural threats, analyze afterlife dimensions, and even charm hostile factions like the "Cult of Ch'ad" into abandoning their leaders to worship her instead.
