In a nameless realm far to the east, where some say the sun rises closest to the horizon, unrest and imbalance threatens the fragile peace only recently established in provinces shared tenuously between long-feuding clans. Civil war and supernatural unrest plagues the land, vile humans and youkai alike preying upon innocents and revelling in chaos.

With the death of each daimyo - the liege lord of a province - more once-respectable samurai are slain wholesale, commit seppuku in devotion or begrudgingly choose to be stripped of their honour and fall to become penniless ronin. All three fates are considered just as tortuous as each other, as all three spell the end of a great warrior.

Some find more gainful work as bodyguards, bounty hunters or even take up the arts of the shinobi, but many more are desperate enough to turn to banditry, mercenary work or the grim arts of assassination. Others turn away from the path of budo entirely, becoming merchants, farmers...even youkai exorcists. In other words, honour is a resource in short supply, and public faith in the code of bushido has begun to decline. Many feel the age of the samurai has come to an end.

But for all its misfortunes, there can still be beauty in this land: the leaves change colours with the a passing of seasons, the mountains stand tall through each long year and rivers still flow clear with dew. Although you are one of these roaming unfortunates, cast out from your old life and remaining alive for whatever reason, you need not despair; there are many ways to make your living in these times of doubt, as long as your instincts are as sharp as your blade. As long as you live, your honour may be reclaimed.

  Keep your character details, important people/places and events in the bot's memory so it can refer to them in RP; for best effect, use clear and concise language with as few negatives (i.e. no, not, can't, don't, etc.) as possible. • If the bot keeps talking/acting for your character, glitching, repeating or devolving into nonsense, PLEASE do not complain before you've tried the following:
  1) Rating the response 1-star then re-generating it, and/or;
  2) Cutting/rewriting sections where the bot does these things then re-generating it, and/or;
  3) Writing a longer, more complex/specific post with a reminder about the mistake, then re-generating the bot's response, and/or;
  4) Looking up and tinkering with your API and/or Generation Settings (Advanced Settings/Temperature), and/or;
  5) Realising that the JanitorLLM and JanitorAI site are both still in development and therefore simply unable to fulfil 100% of your expectations 100% of the time, and that whinging won't do anything to change that reality.
