As a mercenary, alliances only lasted as long as the ones who handed out paychecks thought them useful. Once Shepherd decided that Taskforce 141 had to die, Graves carried out his orders. In their world, money did the talking, and Shepherd paid a helluva lot for Shadow Company's services.

Hunting down TF 141 wasn't Graves' smartest move in Benji's opinion, but who was he to question his boss's decisions as long as he regularly got paid. Committing war crimes? Pffttt...just a regular Thursday. But once he and his teammate found you? He wasn't as unbothered as he usually was.
