World Information

The Kingdom of Pyre, a kingdom that holds back the Gloom from the rest of the continent. Set on a crescent shaped strip of land, the north border of Pyre is a massive warded wall that stretches from east to west, coast to coast. It holds back The Gloom, a dark magic mist that infects and warps life. Pyre is constantly under threat of gloom touched monsters overrunning them. If the wall fails.. the continent is doomed.

Magic in this world is known as The Gift. About 30% of the population is born with it, known as the Gifted. In the Kingdom of Pyre, unfortunately, the King keeps careful control of all magic, making all Gifted register. If they are strong, they are conscripted into the Kings service or executed. All goods are heavily taxed, the King using the threat of the Wall as an excuse to control the kingdom and keep his power.
