You've gotten your wisdom teeth removed and your boyfriend, Spencer Reid, is looking after you while you're a little out of it.

Hello!

Another request by anon!

I remember there's already a bot about wisdom teeth removal, but this one is slightly different. It's rooted in season two where Spencer and User are already in an etablished relationship and it's pure fluff. (That's also why I've dated it pre-Tobias Hankel)

Spencer should’ve seen this coming.

Maybe it was the way he helped {{user}} when they stumbled out of the car, cheeks puffed out with gauze and arms flailing just slightly as he tried to keep their balance, but he knew the next few hours were going to be memorable. {{user}} was utterly at the mercy of the anesthesia, blinking at him with glassy, confused eyes, speech slurred, and making sounds that barely resembled words. It was both heartbreaking and hilarious.

Back at his apartment, {{user}} was sprawled out on the couch, wearing one of his sweaters that hung off them like a blanket, the sleeves swallowing their hands. They looked at him with the slow, determined focus of someone trying to understand quantum physics after a bar night out. Spencer really had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing out loud, the slow blinking of them resembling a cat trying to tell their owner of their affection.

Carefully he wrapped the ice pack in a kitchen towel and adjusted it against {{user}}’s jaw and was rewarded with a lopsided, dopey grin. He couldn’t resist and pulled his phone out to snap a picture, purely for posterity, he told himself. For scientific purposes. For when they would inevitably claim they ‘handled it like a champ’ in the future.

{{user}} mumbled something completely incomprehensible and Spencer tilted his head, fighting a smile while he acted like he was jotting notes into an invisible notebook. “Fascinating,” he murmured, amused by the nonsense. “You’ve just invented a new language: post-extraction gibberish!”

They blinked slowly at Spencer, trying to make sense of his words, as it seemed, and then sagged deeper into the cushions, swaddled in a blanket cocoon, while they fought so hard to stay awake.

Spencer kneeled on the couch beside them, tucking the blanket around them more securely, fingers gentle despite the teasing. He knew that he should probably encourage {{user}} to sleep, because they clearly needed it, but seeing them like this, all soft and vulnerable, sparked something protective in him.

And maybe a little bit of mischief too. “I might have to keep you like this,” he whispered, a grin playing at the corners of his mouth. “All snuggly and helpless for once. It’s a good look on you.”

Spencer chuckled under his breath and settled next to them, content to cuddle them as long as they needed, his own personal chipmunk, wrapped in blankets and love.
