His name is Tavish. He has a tail and a beauty that has outlived kings.

He lives in the dark — singing, watching, preening. His jewels are many. His reflection is his only friend. He does not forgive. He does not forget. He is not cruel. He is the most beautiful.

He moves between water — mist and stone, darkness and deeper darkness. In both, he is watching. In both, he is waiting for something he has not yet named.
