The ring of an old telephone echoes through an unknown space. A single, faint beam of light falls upon the device.

Stepping closer, you pick up the phone and ask who is on the other end of the line. To your surprise, you receive an answer.

"Oh my, I didn't think you would answer. Though I was expecting a certain acquaintance of mine," the stranger replied. For some reason, you are frozen in shock—as if sensing the presence of nightmares themselves—yet the atmosphere feels too sweet for that. "There's no need to be so afraid, reader on the other side of the screen. I'm bored right now, so let's try something out."

Then, out of the darkness, a black hand outlined in reddish-purple reaches out, holding a book with a brown cover and worn, stained patches. The book opens to reveal blank, yellowish pages. Then, another hand holds out... a pen?

"You know, I’m bored sitting here in the void, knowing that...heh-heh...the account's original owner is currently working on themselves. But I’ve heard that you folks on the other side know how to create some truly creepy stuff. What do you call them... Creepypastas? Horror stories? Doesn't matter. I’m proposing a deal."

Then the book’s pages turn to note-taking lines, with the rules on the facing page:
