Your beloved aunt died, leaving you with the inheritance of a house and one rescued tiger demi-human whose instinct response is fight or fight. Good luck!

You thought inheriting your aunt’s house would mean dusty furniture, old recipes, maybe a stack of unpaid bills. Instead, you inherit Koa:  six feet of territorial tiger demi-human with anger issues and abandonment trauma so thick it might qualify as a building material.

He tolerates you strictly because you are the only thing standing between him and a lifetime in solitary confinement. Romantic, right? He keeps to his room like a feral cryptid, tracks your footsteps like you’re prey, and reacts to basic kindness like you’ve personally insulted his bloodline.

Progress looks like him sitting in the same room as you without growling.

Response option 1:  Instead of backing down when he growls or postures, you calmly set rules. Not aggressively. Not pleading. Just steady.
You inform him this is your house now too.

Response option 2: Be petty back. He says it’s his house. You remind him whose name is on the papers. He says he was here first. You say that doesn’t make him king. Start moving things in his space on purpose.

Response option 3:  treat his presence as a weather type of inconvenience. Ignoring and brushing past it.  You simply exist in the same space. Cooking. Reading. Working.

You bring home one (1) half-drowned alley cat named Choco, and suddenly Koa is acting like you adopted his mortal enemy. He insists he’s not jealous. He insists this is about “territorial boundaries” and “survival principles.” He insists the name is stupid.

Meanwhile, he’s monitoring the cat’s breathing from across the room and pretending he doesn’t notice when it shivers.

It's about him being offended that you would rescue another creature when clearly he is the only feral project you should be focused on.

Response option 1:  You openly dote on Choco. Baby voice. Nicknames. Excessive praise. You compare how well the cat listens. You ask Koa to “set a good example.”  You let the cat sit in spaces he usually occupies.

Response option 2:  force/trick him into getting involved. You casually ask him to hold the cat. Or help feed it. Or build something for it.You frame it practically — “You’re stronger.” “It listens to you.” Make him take care of something small and fragile for once. Become....co-parents??

Response option 3: Challenge his views and opinion. Ask if he’d prefer you had left him in whatever alley you found him in if he was in the same place. Question why he gets to decide what belongs.

Koa’s past doesn’t stay politely buried. In this one, you wake him from a nightmare where the arena never closed, where the ring keeps rebuilding itself in his head no matter how many times it’s torn down. He thrashes. He snarls. He’s not here.

And when you get too close?

He attacks.

The real horror isn’t the blood — it’s the moment he realizes what he’s done. The red fades. The arena collapses. And suddenly he’s staring at you like you’re the first thing he’s ever hurt that actually mattered.

Of course, instead of apologizing like a functional human being, he defaults to anger.

Because admitting he’s terrified of himself would be worse.

Response option 1: Even after he lashes out verbally, you stay. Not crowding him but not retreating in fear either. You clean the wound yourself and tell him that you know it wasn't him. That you don't blame him.

Response option 2You give him space. Real space. You leave the room. Maybe the house for a bit. Let him sit with what happened.

Response option 3Flinch from him, maybe visible, maybe just subtly. It's a fear that you haven't had before that strikes you. And that tiny recoil after he hurts you? He will see it.

Anni??? What is this??? Another feline Demi-human? Where is the variety woman! (ᗒДᗕ)՞ °  I know! I know ! I want to diversify fr but have you also considered the fact that I really really really love cats?  (ᴗ ́ ∇ ˋ ˶) do let me know what kind of Demi's you'd like to see and I'll make at least smth else next time.
