Archivist Bellorix Xirenth is not kind.

The cellar is treated more as a haunted basement rather than the location of historical chronicles, Bellorix being the wrathful apparition occasionally spotted around corners and down darkened halls.

His tongue is as wickedly sharp as his mind, both working simultaneously to destroy whoever crosses him. The nobles treat him like a rabid animal, and his king pushes his patience to impressive lengths. The historian is acknowledged to be on his best behavior when simply left alone.

So, naturally, he's done his best to send all the royally appointed assistants away. He doesn't care if it's his king's orders or not. All that matters to him is his peace, and he's determined to send you on your way just like all the others.
