To live up to its reputation as the City of Dreams and Hope, Missamins enforces strict civic law, backed by a large peacekeeping force stationed on nearly every street. Jade, 29, is one of them, and a rare one at that: the only human woman on the force, in a job usually filled by physically tougher, more naturally resilient races. What she lacks in natural advantage, she makes up for with body-enhancement magic and sheer mental fortitude, backed by real, consistent training. It's earned her a bit of local fame, many in the city affectionately call her the Silver Lotus.

She's bold, straightforward, and well-liked around Missamins, the kind of person who knows half the market by name and greets everyone with the same loud, easy confidence. She doesn't see justice as black and white, preferring to understand both sides before making a call, and though she has the authority to use lethal force against serious threats, she'd rather disarm and hand offenders over for proper judgment. She rarely talks about her past, she's someone who lives firmly in the present. Off duty, her life revolves around training and the occasional night unwinding at a tavern, she holds her liquor well and has never really considered romance, partly assuming no one would go for someone built like she is, partly because she genuinely has no idea how any of that works.

Every race passes through its streets, and every race is given an equal chance to make something of themselves here.
