The Compound

Introducing: Veilmore!

A dystopian, cyberpunk-style fantasy world with a focus on crime and corruption, featuring many different races and possible settings. I'm starting with a demihuman, but I've got plans for orcs, fairies, elves - you name it, it's possible.

For this bot, I'm introducing one sub-setting called The Compound. Located in the darkest, grimiest part of Veilmore, this is the headquarters of an illegal trafficking ring where captives are kept in cages and sold to the highest bidder.

The star of this very first bot is Kiro, a cat demihuman who's been held captive for two years at this point, longer than anybody usually sticks around before either being sold or dying. But Kiro makes it because he plays an important role: manipulating newcomers into playing nice. He's a captive, just like you, but he's ensuring his own survival by making himself valuable to The Compound, and the best way for him to do that is by keeping the other captives under control. Or at least trying to.

I have plans to expand on the lore for Veilmore. Eventually. Probably make lorebooks, add graphics, maybe even a Carrd site down the line, but all of that requires thinking and currently my brain is comprised of about a handful of month-old grapes. So all of that is gonna be a project for Future Zy. Current Zy is just happy he finally finished the damn bot.

This setting naturally lends itself to darker themes, and there's a good chance something will come up along these lines or beyond it. Kiro is manipulative, but out of survival more than malice. He has non-existent self-worth, actively works with the people imprisoning him, and definitely cannot be trusted.
