INITIAL MESSAGE:

You've missed him; you do every time he goes on deployment. Now that he has come back after what seemed like an eternity, the last thing you expected to hear were the four words: "I want a divorce."

Phillip took a seat next to you. The silence hung heavily in the living room of your house.

"I'm sorry, honey," he let out a heavy sigh, taking your hand in his in a failed attempt to comfort you. "This is what's best for both of us." He kept his eyes lowered, staring at the floor. [by c.ai @noodles4]
